It's Shorts and Flip Flop Season!!

Spring always seems to be the time that we start to think about losing weight after a long Winter with binging on Netflix and enjoying our favorite snacks. Have you tried on your Summer clothes yet??? Are they a bit snug or is it time for a whole new summer wardrobe a few sizes larger?
Here are my secrets to sustainable weight loss, drug free and FDA registered. I believe you will find this very help!
Eating enough calories is important when trying to lose weight because your body requires a certain amount of energy to function properly. Calories are units of energy, and provide fuel for various bodily functions such as maintaining organ function, regulating body temperature, supporting physical activity, and even digesting food.
When you consume fewer calories than your body needs, it creates an energy deficit, leading to weight loss. However, it is crucial to strike a balance and ensure that you are still providing your body with adequate nutrition and energy to support its basic functions. Here are a few reasons why eating enough calories is important during weight loss:
Metabolic rate: Consuming too few calories for an extended period can slow down your metabolic rate. Your body goes into "starvation mode" to conserve energy, as it perceives a shortage of food. This can make it harder to lose weight over time.
Muscle preservation: When you restrict calories significantly, your body may turn to muscle tissue as an energy source. This can result in muscle loss, which is undesirable because muscles help boost metabolism and give your body shape and strength. Eating enough calories, particularly with adequate protein, helps preserve muscle mass during weight loss.
Nutrient intake: Eating enough calories ensures that you're getting a sufficient intake of essential nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and macronutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. These nutrients are vital for overall health, energy production, immune function, and many other physiological processes.
Sustained energy levels: Sufficient calorie intake helps maintain energy levels throughout the day, allowing you to engage in physical activity and maintain productivity. When you don't consume enough calories, you may experience fatigue, weakness, and difficulty concentrating.
Eating enough calories is crucial! It's generally recommended to create a modest calorie deficit (500-1000 calories per day) to promote gradual, sustainable weight loss while ensuring adequate nutrition.
It's always advisable to consult with a healthcare professional or a registered dietitian who can provide personalized guidance based on your specific needs and goals.
Understanding Weight Loss begins with knowing your BMR Formula (Basal Metabolic Rate)
BMR represents your daily energy expenditure if your body is at rest all day. It is the minimum number of calories your body needs in order to function for 24 hours.
formula for men: BMR=
66.47 + ( 6.24 × weight in pounds ) + ( 12.7 × height in inches ) − ( 6.755 × age in years )
Example: 66.47+ (6.24 X 198 lbs) + (12.7 x 65") - (6.7 X 55 yrs) - BMR
formula for women: BMR =
65.51 + ( 4.35 × weight in pounds ) + ( 4.7 × height in inches ) − ( 4.7 × age in years )
EXAMPLE:65.51+ (4.35 X 150) + (4.7 x65") - (4.7 X55 yrs) - BMR
Calculating your daily calorie requirement
After you've calculated your BMR, learn what your daily calorie requirement
1. If you are sedentary (little or no exercise)
Calories Per Day = BMR x 1.2
2. If you are lightly active (light exercise or sports 1-3 days/week)
Calories Per Day = BMR x 1.375
3. If you are moderately active (moderate exercise 3-5 days/week)
Calories Per Day = BMR x 1.55
4. If you are very active (hard exercise 6-7 days/week)
Calories Per Day = BMR x 1.725

🎯I started the new year off with new goals and one of them was to improve my overall wellbeing and health.
💝My first grandchild is due to arrive in a few months and I decided I wanted to be around to be part of her life for a very long time and feel the best I can.
✅I made exercise part of my daily routine (I love that the VoxxLife socks have kept my plantar fasciitis pain away for over 4 years!)
✅I made eating whole foods a priority and...
✅I started wearing the Ignite patch that helps to optimize my resting metabolic rate without any chemicals so I burn more calories while I’m sleeping, sitting at my desk, or watching a movie with my mom.
